Adrenal Gland Surgery
Tumors of the adrenal gland are malignant most of the time. However, removing the cancerous adrenal gland can cure the affected patient who goes on to have a good life. Surgery can be difficult specially if the adrenal tumor is large and has invaded surrounding structures. Therefore, a CT scan prior to surgery is essential for planning the procedure. Adrenal gland removal fee at VSO is NOK 40 000,- and includes IV catheter, general anesthesia, pre- and post-op pain medication and collar which has to be used for 2 weeks, until suture removal. Not included in this fee is pre-operative CT scan and laboratory tests used to determine the nature of the tumor, as well as any follow up appointments as most clients choose to have these done at their local veterinarian.
